Imagine going in for a haircut and walking out with the possibility of love. That’s what happened to Nancy one fateful day when, during her haircut, her hairdresser Tommie mentioned that she had been thinking about setting Nancy up with certain someone for a couple of years. After seeing Garrett’s photo on the salon’s website (and the salon weighing in on the conversation!) Nancy agreed and Tommie rang Garrett that night with Nancy’s contact details. The next morning Nancy had a voicemail and, that night, Nancy + Garrett were on their first date.
3 years later and Nancy + Garrett are building a house, and a life, together. An incredibly classy, elegant and beautiful couple, Nancy + Garrett married at the Hotel MacDonald attended by family and witnessed by their nearest and dearest.
The boys were at Garrett’s house getting reading, where the groom was joined by his son Brendan, brother Brent and Brent’s boys Tristan and Aaron. Brendan, who at 16 hadn’t worn a suit before, was asking his dad how to put on the suspenders and tie a tie. Garrett helped Brendan get ready before getting ready himself, with Brent there to make sure Garrett looked his best. The finishing touch, cuff links from Hugo Boss for the wedding party and Garrett’s parents arriving to help with the boutonnieres.
Nancy got ready at Hotel MacDonald accompanied by her mom and bridesmaids; sister, Laurie and Garrett’s daughter, Haylee. Both bridesmaids were stoked about being involved in the wedding. Laurie was excited for her big sister who found her knight in shining armour and Haylee was telling everyone she was sure her dad would cry during the ceremony because he was quite emotional during the rehearsal.
The afternoon ceremony was an emotional gathering. Nancy walked down the aisle with her dad to Ava Maria, timing the walk perfectly to the music so it was a definite ‘wow’ moment when Nancy arrived at Garrett’s side and the moment tied into the music seamlessly. Haylee may have expected her dad to be in tears, but instead she was the one crying with happiness. The ceremony included readings from Garrett’s sister and sister-in-law which brought tears to the guests’ eyes. Nancy + Garrett exchanged handwritten vows and, after saying ‘I Do’ walked back down the aisle followed by their children who were, quite literally, dancing with joy.
Nancy + Garrett, your love story is a beautiful one and we loved being there to visualise this chapter of it. It was an elegant, emotional and beautiful ceremony – can’t wait to share the reception in Part II!
Love. You. Always.
