“Cause every time I try and tell her how I feel
it comes out “I love you”
“I do”
You got whatever it is
Oh you got whatever it is” ~ Whatever it is, Zac Brown Band

Fort Edmonton Park was an ideal reception venue for Carmen + Shaun who are a fantastic combination of country and urban – lending an old fashioned charm and sense of history.  The Air Hanger came alive as Carmen + Shaun’s family and friends celebrated into the night.

The couple had a beautiful cake crafted for their wedding and Shaun’s mum surprised them with a cake celebrating her son’s other love; his corvette.  The guests were adamant that both cakes should be cut but Shaun couldn’t bear to marr any Corvette, even a confectionary one. Fearless, Carmen took matters into her own hand as Shaun, despair in his face, could only ask, “how could you do this” as Carmen ‘keyed’ the driver side door before taking out the front headlight.

“That’s how she ruined her first car.” Shaun commented, shocking Carmen (but no response!)

Both the bride and groom’s siblings gave speeches, raising a glass to the glowing couple.  The best man, Lee and maid of honour, Kara, paid tribute to their best friends by creating Carmen and Shaun-air, set to the tune of ‘The Prince of Bel-Air.’Calgary Wedding PhotographerCalgary Wedding PhotographersCalgary Wedding Photography

The couple sang along to ‘Whatever it is’ as they opened the dance floor.

As the party went on, the couple found themselves the centre of attention; Shaun was surrounded by girls and Carmen by boys.  Shaun was pulled in all directions as the girls encircled him and stripped him of clothing, one piece at a time!  The boys knew better than to mess with the dress and instead hoisted Carmen up in the air and had a dance with her.

Jagerbombs and cigars came out in the evening, giving guests the opportunity to raise a celebratory glass or light a cigar to mark the occassion.

The light showers cooled the party (after stripping Shaun it had heated up a bit!) and the rain drops shimmered with light from the hangar.

Carmen + Shaun, thank you for letting us share in your day.  We felt so welcomed by your bridal party and guests and loved the opportunity to recharge by raising a jagerbomb in toast to you.  Can’t wait to shoot your Trash the Dress next year!

Your dear friends,

~Anthony + Rina
